Everton respond to controversial Samir Nasri move
Everton have distanced themselves from reports that they are considering a surprise move for free agent Samir Nasri.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City forward will complete a drugs ban next month and will be free to train with interested clubs again.
And reports this morning claimed that Everton manager Marco Silva had discussed with his staff the possibility of bringing the former French international back to England.
Senior Everton officials, however, are believed to have absolutely no interest in the 31-year-old.
The forward is serving a ban after receiving an intravenous treatment at an LA clinic in December 2016 when he was playing for Sevilla on loan from City.
The treatment, taken while on holiday, was for hydration but was found to contain micronutrient components that were on the World Anti-Doping Agency banned list.
Nasri was initially banned for six months but that was subsequently increased to 18 months. He played in Turkey prior to the ban being extended.
