'Barkley on his way out'
Former Everton defender Alan Stubbs has claimed that Ross Barkley could soon be on his way out after Davy Klaassen's arrival.
The England international is entering the final 12 months of his contract and he has yet to agree a new deal.
Boss Ronald Koeman has continued to warn him about his future, insisting he will be sold if he fails to commit his future to the Merseyside outfit.
With Romelu Lukaku contemplating his future, Koeman is eager to bolster his squad and tempt him to stay.
Barkley may yet do the same but Stubbs believes Klaassen's arrival could see him move down the pecking order.
He told Talksport: "I think Ronald put his cards on the table with Ross before the end of the season and he gave him an ultimatum.
"The fact that we are three weeks gone and Ross hasn't signed, then I think that's the biggest indicator that Ross' future is going to lie elsewhere.
"The one thing that he (Koeman) said towards the end is that he wanted more creativity in the team and I think, with Klaassen, he's certainly got that - his record is very good and he's a great age."
